In the 1959 Goshen Relays,” little” Bobby Scott, Class of 1961 , nosed out Gary Roosevelts “big” Floyd Theus at the finish line.  Scott , a sophmore,  was five -four, and weighed 98 pounds .  Theus was a six foot junior.  The winning time was 3:29.9  which was good for the second best relay mark in the state.

The Class of 1961 is going to begin meeting for breakfast at Perkins in Elkhart  on the 4th Thursday of every month beginning at 9 AM  on September 22, 2011.   All classmates and spouses are welcome.  After the 1st meeting, a decision will be made whether or not to continue to meet at Perkins or to meet at another location.  Hope to see you there !!!

Classmates of EHS 1961 -  Thank you so very much for the gift certificate given to me at the Friday night reunion gathering.  For those of you who  weren’t in attendance , it was given in appreciation  for the blog work that I have been doing for the past 5 years.  I am very, very  grateful, but, I would be extremely remiss to take all the credit for the blog for myself.  Sandy Weir Teller was – and still is – the technical expertise behind the blog…along with her son , Jon.  I also have two other “techies” – my son and my daughter who have tons of computer knowledge….as most of our children have.  Plus.. this truly is a blog for the class… and many of you have contributed pictures and comments .  PLEASE keep them coming!!   Thank you again     Ellen
