Earl Avery III dies 5/10/2012

Earl Avery III, 1961 classmate, passed away on May 10,2012 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illnois. Earl worked as a telephone engineer for contractors in Indiana and Illinois, and retired in 2008. He was a huge sports fan and memorabilia collector. He managed and coached for Cleveland Little League for more than 10 years.

Earl is survived by his wife, Maria, his mother , Jean Avery of Elkhart, a son Earl ( Misty ) Avery IV of Elkhart, a daughter , Amanda Avery of Las Vegas, NV, four grandchildren, a brother, Thomas Avery and a sister, Barbara Avery Wilmore, both of Elkhart.

Memorials may be made to Cleveland Little League of Elkhart. Our condolences to the family.

Mark D. Bloxson dies 4/24/2012

1961 classmate Mark D. Bloxson passed away on April 24, 2012 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is survived by his mother, Ru Bloxson, and a brother , Jerry, both of Elkhart, a sister, Kathryn Cone of Fort Collins, Colorado, a son, Wray Bloxson of El Paso, Texas and a grandson, Brian of Center Point, Texas. Mark was preceded in death by his father.

Mark was a machinist by trade and a veteran. Our condolences to the family.

John Growcock dies April 29th, 2012

1961 Classmate John Collins Growcock passed away Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, IN. John is survived by his wife, Sherron Gyori Growcock, three children, Julie (Gabriel) Vargas of Thousand Oaks, CA, Jeffery ( Gloria ) Growcock of Brownsburg, IN, and Jennifer ( James ) LeMere of Middleton, WI, three grandchildren, his mother Jane L. Growcock of Elkhart, three brothers, G.David ( Judy McQueen) Growcock of Garfield, AR, Stephen ( Sue Neuffer ) Growcock of Elkhart, and Harry ( Erika ) Growcock of Elkhart, and sister-in-law Mary Beth Growcock of Mason, OH. He was preceded in death by his father George and a brother, William.

John received a degree in business from Ball State University in 1965 and worked in the banking industry for his entire career. He was employed as a VP/chief financial officer for several years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Indiana Large Scale Railroaders and enjoyed his own backyard garden railroad.
