. Otis R. Irving, beloved crossing guard passed away August 14,2023. He was married to the former Dana Danzy. Otis enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam and received an honorable dischqrge for his service.He was employed for over 38 yeqrs atBayer, formerly Miles Inc. as a production worker in the citrus department. After his retirement from Bayer, he was employed by the Elkhart Police Dept. for 20 years as a crossing guard for
Woodland Elementary School in Elkhart. In 2021 he was recognized by State Senator Linda Rogers thanking him for being a “positive role model for the children and for keeping the children of our community safe. Our condolences to the family.
