Norris was a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan.  He loved the music of Mozart, old buildings and cars of all types.  He was passionate about progressive politics.   At the time of his death, he was on the state wide ballot as the Green Party candidate for US Senator.

He is survived by two distant cousins .  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.
