Susan “Sue” Lee Waggoner Estes passed away April 12, 2018 after a battle with cancer at Golden Living Center in Elkhart.
She is survived by two sons, Richard ( Delores ) Estes and James Estes, two grandchildren, David and Brittany, a sister, Patti Kaser, a cousin, Rosie Martin and a niece, Devon Dean.
Preceding her in death was her husband Richard Estes.
She was a librarian at Beardsley Elementary School in Elkhart for 33 years. While there she oversaw all book orders and processing as well as spearheading the “Reading Is Fundamental ( RIF ) project.
She even had the pleasure of meeting former First Lady Barbara Bush as a result of her efforts in encouraging children to read.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking and baking.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
